Eva Mahkovic (1986) works as a dramaturg for the Ljubljana City Theatre. Her work involves solving problems with texts of plays and with people, logic, relationships and psychology. She enjoys adapting novels for the stage, for example Henry James’ The Wings of the Dove, Jean-Paul Sartre’s La Nausée and Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and sometimes she also translates. Her first solo theatre piece Male kraljice (Little Queens) premiered at the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre in 2017. Her literary debut on days like these, my mastercard suffers the most came out in 2019, soon followed by vignettes of a phobialover. She likes Catholic iconography, Alexander McQueen, Virgin Mary porcelain statues and greyhounds, Taylor Swift, Edith Wharton, Deyrolle, designing worlds of her own, lists and all things beautiful and strange.
