Last year, the Italian translation of the novel And Love Itself was published by Nave di Teseo publishing house, skillfully translated by Darja Betocchi with the title "E l'amore anche ha bisogno di riposo". The jury praised both the "select prose of Jančar" and the "masterful translation by Darja Betocchi," which enables Italian readers to experience the story of love, hatred, and the consequences of war that unfold in the pages of Jančar's novel and his birthplace, Maribor.
