We are excited to announce the first-ever public presentation of ThinkPub, a new European think tank dedicated to supporting the publishing sector through innovation, training, and knowledge-sharing.
As the traditional concept of a book has evolved dramatically from printed pages to diverse formats, small to mid-sized publishers in niche markets with limited populations face unique challenges that require reinventing their business strategies to remain competitive. This is especially true for those working within linguistic constraints and narrow population reach, where digital retail and audio subscription models present a complex landscape of both obstacles and opportunities. While global platforms typically favor mass-market content, specialized digital solutions offer these publishers the chance to build sustainable business models, develop dedicated audiences, and potentially extend beyond their traditional borders.
Join us for an insightful panel featuring experts who have successfully navigated digital transitions in small markets across Europe:
Featured speakers:
• Carlo Carrenho (Alpine Global Collective): Nordic audiobook trends vs. smaller-market strategies
• Sonia Draga (Grupa Wydawnicza): Why multi-format publishing hits smaller players hardest
• Alma Čaušević Klemenčič (Beletrina Digital): Lessons from Slovenia’s digital transformation
• Marko Hercog (Beletrina): Introduction to the ThinkPub Library and digital learning tools
Moderated by: Rüdiger Wischenbart (Wischenbart Content and Consulting)
The session will conclude with the unveiling of ThinkPub’s roadmap of future activities and the Library of Digital Learning Objects—a new educational platform designed to equip publishers and authors with essential digital skills for today’s evolving market.
ThinkPub is co-funded by the European Commission through the Creative Europe programme.
